Fallbrook Loop Ride
Fallbrook is described as "Life in the country" and these two routes
lead you through this quiet gem surrounded by the foothills of
Southwest California, known as the Avocado Capital of the world.
The area is also ideal for growing fruits, strawberries, tomatoes,
flowers and eucalyptus. Equestrian and hiking trails criss cross
through the hills among the beautiful estates. With the exception of
the January - March rainy season, the favorable climate makes it a
year round riding area.
The small town of Fallbrook has it's own unique charm. The many
art, gift, antique and boutiques make for a wonderful afternoon of
browsing. Route One is a 57 mile ride with many twists and turns
while Route Two is a shorter 36 mile loop. Both routes feel longer
due to the slow speeds and the panoramic views that warrant a stop
and maybe a picture or two.
Both routes share some common roads but each differs in scenic
views and terrain, and come to an end in Temecula's Historic Old
Town. There are also many gift, antique, craft and jewelry stores to
see here, so put your kick stand down and visit with the friendly
folks of Temecula for awhile. There are also many restaurants to
choose from for lunch or dinner. This is a perfect afternoon get away
ride with a few friends so have a great time riding & shopping and as
always.....

Looking for a great get-away ride? Look no further. This day ride will
challenge your riding skills and blow out the cob webs in your mind. First
we test your riding skills through De Luz Canyon and up through Carancho
Rd. to the Santa Rosa Plateau. Caution is advised as there are many
twists and turns, along with some steep inclines with off camber curves.
The reward for this part of the ride is the beautiful views along the way,
but please pay attention to the road! The Santa Rosa Reserve has many
hiking and equestrian trails and is also a habitat preserve, check out the
visitor center while your there for more information.
From the Santa Rosa Plateau you'll drop down into Murrieta along Clinton
Keith Rd. heading out to the country via Winchester Rd. Take the time to
stop at Diamond Valley Lake and check out the view and the visitor center.
It's hard to believe there is a lake this size just over the foothills, but the
lake is only the beginning of the story. From fishing and boating recreation
to an Archaeology and Paleontology center to an aquatic center for family
fun it's well worth a stop. Check out their web site before heading out,
you'll be surprised at what's there.
We continue our ride through some great back country roads that lead us
back to Temecula. If your interested in camping amongst the oaks, stop
and visit Vail Lake Resort. They have full hook up and tent sites available
and offer many outdoor activities including hiking and horseback riding.
Our ride ends up in Temecula's Old Town, stop for lunch at one of the
many restaurants available and don't forget to shop for that one of a kind
gift at the many antique and gift shops, have a good time, and as
always.....
